Thank you for your thoughtful response around a difficult subject, fraught with powerful emotions, including shame and self-identity.

There appears to be a wide spectrum of behaviors that currently receive a very narrow set of responses. I don’t believe that permanent unemployment in one’s field of expertise is the only acceptable answer to an allegation.

I don’t know if this is a particularly “liberal” concern, I would hope that conservatives also find harassment and rape to be unacceptable behaviors. However, either way, I would hope for a fair hearing, for everyone involved to get a chance to speak their truth, and for fair and commensurate responses or punishments as appropriate.

Not knowing, and being unable to return to your area of expertise, are a sort of purgatory.
